When I saw these colors, I imediately thought of retro Christmas ornaments. I pulled out this stencil set from Taylored expressions from last year and I am loving the way it turned out. I used light gray cardstock and watermelon red, blue rasberry turquoise, cilantro green and sea salt gray. Doesn't that make you want to get a snack? I love the way it turned out with the embossed silver cords for a little glitz. I'm sure that I will make a few more of these.

This sketch is so versatile. I chose a summer look with small daisy background, yellow for my panel and then some yellow and white daisies to compliment.

I love these colors. I used a soft gray card base and sentiment strip and my butterflies are pink and spearmint. They look so delicate!

*Thank you Susie Moore for choosing this card as one of your favorites!

Camp Create Day 4

Today's challenge was backgrounds. I have loved this die since it came out. So many ways to use it. With a black frame and deep colors it becomes stained glass. I took inspiration from the Christmas Plaid paper from a few years ago and tried some not so traditional colors. The sentiments are from the kit with the Christmas lights. Since the card was "merry and bright" I thought the sentiments fit quite well. This is my final card and I have enjoyed stretching my supplies.

Camp Create Day 5

This has always been one of my favorite die sets from MFT. I have 5 brothers, a husband, 3 sons, 4 grandsons and 2 great grandsons along with all the in-laws and cousins, my male themed card making is never ending. Although the die is old, I spruced it up with updated paper. Have a brother in law birthday coming up.

Camp Create Day 3

Everytime I want to make an embossed resist background, this is my go to stamp. No matter how many times I use it, I always looks different but still beautiful. I was going for a summertime feel with this one and I am loving the way it turned out.

I tried to make my flowers two toned like some of the roses I have seen. Not sure this is my best, but I'm happy with the shadow around it. I used markers and a watercolor brush.

Camp Create Day 1

I have been teaching a Christmas Card making class at our park. I have pulled out all of my old Christmas stamps, dies and paper and in the process have been purging. I came across this snow globe set and thought it would be a little different shaker. I used a snowfall stencil with some white ink and then added some glitter glue. I love the different look of the Kraft cardstock for Christmas.

I love the color choices this week. I used silver for my foliage and gray for flower details and sentiment. I like the way that they all look silver. A little out of my comfort zone but I'm happy with the results.

What a great sketch this week. It is perfect for showcasing a large sentiment like this one from Taylored Expressions. I'm loving the way this card turned out and can't wait to try other color combinations and sentiments-even Christmas!

I'm teaching a Christmas Card Class here in our park for the summer. I'm trying out different sketches with older stamps to make them look new! I love the colors of the dots in the background paper, so that is how I chose the colors for the elves clothing. It's a little out of my comfort zone, but I guess that is good.

Such happy colors for this week. I chose a pieced paper background to showcase them. I recently got some white shimmer paper from "The Paper Cut" and I am loving it. It is so white and really did compliment the bright colors.

I cannot believe that it is August already. Where has the time gone? I began teaching my card class and they wanted to work on Christmas cards, so I have been getting out my supplies, looking for ideas, etc. I am grateful that I follow this challenge each week. The sketches lend themselves to teaching cards that are doable for newer crafters.

I did some watercoloring last week and when I saw this sketch, I knew that one of my backgrounds could work. I'm loving the way this turned out. I used a butterfly which I had previously foiled and colored and it blended well with the background.
