Square cards are not my favorite to make. I'm not sure why, but I like the rectangle or oval. I wasn't going to make one this week, and then I remembered the chalkboard! A birthday card was born. I even had the chalkboard greetings to go along with it.

I love the way this card turned out. I stamped the background and cut out the circle and then was stumped. I went to MFT stamps and looked at some color palates. I chose one that used the circle color and went from there. I'm thinking that the sentiment will be good to send this winter when it is cold and hard to remember warm sunny days!

MFT Color Challenge #27

I must admit, this was a challenge. At first thought came "Modern Blooms" to use the Peach Bellini and the Persimmon, but that would not be much of a challenge so I opted for shaded lettering instead. After a couple of tries, I liked this one along with the cool background. A little bling and a great birthday card!

I love this sketch. It reminds me of an old fashioned portrait. Using that theme, I stamped the background with the lace stamp. I cut the oval out of both Black licorice and watercolor paper. I used the Peaceful Wildflowers die to cut out the flower silhouette. I marked it on the watercolor paper and colored with the Zig markers. I used a ribbon and bow for the tag and circle.

I love the fun stamps from MFT for this month. I can use all the happy colors and they just make them better!

I love this sketch. I had so much fun playing with it. I think it will show up more times. I used the window die, and added splats from Jumbo Abstract Art. I chose soft colors for my palate. My husband likes to make suggestions when I am designing, and after seeing the first part, he chose the grapesicle background. I love the way it all came together.

We are doing some major remodeling, so my craft space is now the dining table. Needless to say, I have not been inspired! I miss the creating so I decided to ink up this cute fellow and play along this week. He made me happy as I worked on the card, so I guess it was the right thing to do!
