Ira Strikes

I did not realize how long it has been since I've posted here. Our life got a little upended in Sept and this was one of the reasons. This is our laundry room and it will need complete remodel as the water got down into the walls. Waiting patiently for a roof replacement and then the fun can begin. Washer & Dryer sustained but many stored craft supplies were not so lucky!

It has been awhile since I have even thought about posting a card. I love the fall colors chosen and this is my take on them.

I love this color combo and needed a couple of birthday cards for men. I think this will fit the bill for one of them who has a "sparkly" personality.

I had just received this die and when I saw the sketch, I knew it was the perfect layout to showcase it.

I'm honored to be a featured stamper for Color Throwdown. When I got this color swatch, I immediately thought of the new stamp I had gotten from SU. The cream paper lent itself to the blue so well. I mounted it on a kraft mini slim card base.

I definitely need to work on my photography techniques. I actually foiled the outline with aqua foil. When I photographed rain clouds rolled in and the bottom became shadowed. At any rate, I love the card in person. It is shiny and the colors blend beautifully.

I wasn't sure about the color blocks, but I'm loving the way this one turned out. All productsw used are from Taylored Expressions.

I didn't realize how much I would love this color combination. I put together several more of these rainbows with the left overs. I'm also thinking flowers. Thanks for the great inspiration.

When I saw this photo, I immediately thought of my favorite strawberry stamp. This is from Technique Tuesday and is many years old. I love the details in this stamp and I love to color it with my copics. It reminds me of all things summer. I used a TE stencil made for the mini slim card. I also used the foilable sentiments from TE and chose a teal to go along with the green family. I'm loving the way this turned out.

I will have to admit that these colors together are a little out of my comfort zone, but look how great they look. It reminds me of all the joys of summer. Water, fruit, sunsets and warmth. The design is a TE layered stencil made for mini slimline cards. I'm sure I'll use these colors again.

I was so excited when I saw these colors. An idea formed immediately in my mind and watching it come together gave me great joy. Of course this is not the first try but the best of all of them. I used TE papers and sentiment along with Spellbinders dies.

I am trying to get ahead of my Birthday cards. I love the colors for this week and the balloons really inspired me. This frame is from MFT and the sentiments from TSOL. I made them very sparkly but they do not show up in this photo. I used navy for my background and love the way it all came together.

I was looking to make a manly birthday card and the tag idea struck my fancy. I used an old die set, stitched wide tags along with some brick red cardstock and some navy to make this card. I think it looks very manly!

I really wasn't sure about these colors, but once I got started, I fell in love. I did add green stems and leaves, but since black is one of the colors, I used it for my neutral!

We had been playing around with background stamps and I had this daisy one sitting on my desk. I thought it would be perfect for this card. It's from TE as are all the papers and sentiment. The embossing folder is from Spellbinders.

These are some of my favorite colors together. I chose the kalidescope hexagons from Spellbinders and used each of the three colors, stacking them in different order. I love the depth these dies give. A touch of gold for a little sparkle was added.

I wasn't sure how I would like these colors together, but I do love this result. I used 1/2 inch strips of each color and after arranging them on hte panel, I stamped a woodgrain background with white pigment ink. I just love the distressed look this makes. All of the products used are from Taylored Expressions.

When I saw these colors, I immediately thought of a manly card. The background is a quad stencil from Taylored Expressions and the Beer Mug die is from MFT. I'm so happy with the way this turned out. I'm thinking of Son's birthday coming soon.

I love these spring colors and thought they blended very well. I used a "Creating in Quads" layering stencil from My Favorite Things. A lot of my crafty friends have gone north and I'm missing them so much already. Thought these cards would be a good way to let them know.

Crafting in a small space

Folks have asked how I can create in a small space. This is my corner at present. I'm looking to change the look very soon. Storage is under the desk and along any available wall!  LOL

I didn't want to make another Valentine, so I pulled out my abstract stencils from Taylored Expressions. I love the shapes that can be mixed and matched. I chose 2 shapes and just stacked them. I added interest with copper ink and some abstract shapes. The sparkle is subtle and I love the overall appearance.

I needed a quick birthday card and when I saw this sketch, this card popped into my head. I kept the color to a minium and used a kraft background so it could be for a guy. You seem to know when I'm stuck for an idea and always come through!

I can't believe it has been since October since I have posted a card. I have been teaching a class every week and I guess I get so behind that I forget to post.  I will try to do better in '22.

This card is for my class. The embossing is done with Spellbinders new club folder. I just loved the tiny hearts. The other papers and stamps are from Taylored Expressions and the banner die cut is from MFT. Image is colored with Copics and mounted on a 3" square.
