I had not made a card like this, so after researching on Pintrest I was ready to cut my paper. It turned out so well, that I have decided to give it to my husband for his birthday on Wednesday. He's watching as I post this so I'm keeping the post small on the computer!

I love the delicate colors in this selection. I used the Taylored Expressions "Field Notes" stamp set. I stamped on watercolor paper with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with gold detail embossing powder. I watercolored the image with spearmint and cupcake inks and a honey gold for the flower center and sentiment. I used a mask for the background using the same honey ink. Reminds me of spring!

I have had these Spellbinder dies for more than a year and never really played with them. I thought they might be fun with this color combination and I was right. I used 2 shades of pink along with the red and I really like the combination together.

What a perfect layout for my background. I made it last week but wasn't quite sure where to go from there. This is a stamp (the gold part) and stencil (shamrocks) combo from Taylored Expressions. When I saw this sketch, I knew it would work. I have quite a few Irish friends, so you may see more of this kind in weeks to come!

I needed a birthday card for a friend who's birthday is on Valentine's Day. I wanted to use this heart and when I saw the sketch, things just came together.

I almost threw that background piece away. I'm trying not to save so much stuff and I had it in my hand to trash when I remembered this sketch. A perfect background. Once that was set, the rest just came together. I believe the background is an old Stampin Up paper. Everything else is from Taylored expressions.
