I have to admit I love these colors but was not inspired until this afternoon when I was working on a scrapbook page that used these colors. I remembered a technique I learned this spring at a retreat. You stamp a silhouette stamp with versamark on dark paper, then heat emboss with white embossing powder. After the image cools, it is colored with alcohol markers. The look is kind of abstract or water colored. I love it and I love this card.

Taylored Expressions came out with a new set of mini strips for front line workers. When I saw the "life saver" one, I knew what I wanted to do with this sketch. I love the way it turned out and now to decide who to send it to!

Hero Arts Challenge #5

Hero Arts has a weekly challenge to keep us busy. I was drawn to this one because I did not get to use this particular stamp last year. I went with more of the Retro look as opposed to the traditional one. I think this detailed tree is just beautiful on its own with just some snowflakes falling.

I really love this combination. I made an afgan for one of my sons using this combo. I knew what I wanted to do when I first saw it and I am loving the way it turned out. Stormy weather here today so the colors aren't as vibrant in the photo, but it is beautiful in person. A great card to mail these days!

I think this is a great sketch for using patterned paper. That was my first thought but then I went with a beautiful background stamp. I love the way it turned out.Stamps and sentiment are from Taylored Expressions.

In keeping with creating cards of cheer and support, I chose one of my favorite PI images. Who couldn't use a hug these days? I'm trying to send cards to those whom I think might be needing some encouragement during these times. I love this sketch and have many more ideas for its use.

I have really been pushing myself to use stamps which I have not used before. These tulips are from the Greetery. I put them in a mason jar and I love the look. I'm also trying to mail a few cards a week to folks I have not seen in awhile. I have gotten some really nice phone calls which made me smile.

Never-Seen-Ink

This card is for a Hero Arts Challenge called "Never Seen Ink". The challenge was to use a stamp that you had bought but never opened the package. I did even better than that. I bought the combination consisting of the stamp, die and inks. I had not used any of them and I really do love the stamp and the colors. Now that I have put ink to stamp, I'm sure there will be more hydrangas. This is a favorite flower from my childhood. My grandfather could grow anything and we had these in every color imaginable.
