MOJO477

I love these colors together. I embossed snowflakes on the teal piece with clear embossing powder and I embossed a piece of watercolor paper with the same snowflakes in white. I created a wash using the teal and some matching green. I really liked this look. So many ways to use it.

This was an interesting sketch to work with. Daughter's birthday is on Christmas, but we try to avoid combining the 2 occasions. Her favorite color is purple and I think this will fit the bill.

Gift Card

One of my card making groups suggested that we make a card along with a kit to make another as our Christmas gift exchange. As I added elements to the card front, I realized that I had not left space for a greeting. I pulled out the slider channel builder from MFT and hid the greeting under the card front! I did put the channel onto the card in the kit so it would be easy to duplicate!

MOJO476

I'm not a fan of square cards, but I love the way this turned out. It is a birthday card for our nephew who is an avid fisherman. I used a piece of acetate with gold dots. I think it added the necessary "glitz" along with keeping it manly.

MFT Color Challenge3 #58

This is really a fun color combination. It matches a plaid paper from the Christmas collection. I love the unusual pink and blue with the traditional red and green. I paper pieced the elf's tunic with a piece of that plaid. I used  the large dot cover up and cut out the pink, blue and green along with a little white. I replaced some of the red dots with the other colors as a background for the elf and the greeting.

These are unusual colors for a Christmas Card, I know, but I was having fun choosing something different.

MFT Color Challenge 57

I really, really love these colors together. The hardest part was to stop at just one card. I'm sure I will be using this group again!

MFTWSC307

I was so happy to use this cover up again along with my favorite birds. Since moving to FL, I am drawn to all things sunny and tropical!

MOJO474

This is a birthday card for a dear friend. I love the colors for a manly card. I used MFT Free Spirit paper pack along with coordinating cardstock. The sentiment is from the "Piece of Cake" stamp set.

Share the Love

This is my contribution for MFT's  "Thankful for You" week. I stamped the Funky Flowers with versamark and then heat embossed with white detail embossing powder onto watercolor paper. I cut the sentiment from MFT's  gold shine paper. I have so much to be grateful in my life that I am sure this card will have a wonderful home.

I didn't want to make another Christmas card, so I went with a "warm" one. I love this sentiment and thought the snowflakes appropriate.

These little elves are still my favorites. This was a different layout style for me, but the new plaid paper for Christmas made it really easy to choose the colors.

MFTWSC304

This sketch proved to take a lot of thought to make it into a sympathy card. I love the way it turned out. The difficulty for me was the accent strip on the side. Nothing seemed to work until I asked my husband's opinion. He liked the look of the simple stripe with white and just one color. I matched the stripe with the ink on the flower and it came together. I can't wait for the sympathy greetings to become available.

Mojo471

I have been needing way too many sympathy cards lately. I decided to see if sketches would help me to come up with some different ones. I wasn't sure about this one, but when I thought about adding some flowers but keeping the color scheme soft, it came together.

I was looking to make a fall card for our Pastor for appreciation Sunday. I love the combination of Persimmon, Pineapple and Biscotti. They really give a warm, fall feeling.

Wedding Card

We attended a wedding over the weekend of some wonderful people. They asked that no presents be given, so I thought a special card was called for. It is a design from Dreaming Tree. I used sentiments from MFT and some gems for accents I think they will like it.

MOJO468

I attended a wedding in Cincinnati the last weekend in June and then a week in MD visiting cousins. I made no cards and was ready to get back to my routine. I just love the layout of this sketch and decided on a monochromatic color scheme. I didn't start out to make a Christmas Card, but it just came together that way. My husband loves it and he is a rather traditional guy. I guess he likes "Blue Christmas" as well!

MOJO465

I found this little saying among my TE stamps. The wine helped determine my color scheme. I love MFT's watercolor backgrounds. So much better than I do on my own. I have several friends in mind for this card. Think it will be a fun birthday one!

After seeing Stephanie's video on what a difference a frame can make on a card, I gave it a try. I love the way this turned out.

It is wonderful when you find a beautiful paper pack and you know that it all goes together. All I had to do was choose my favorites and this beautiful card was born. I love the mix of patterns yet the simplicity of the design.

Birthday Slider card

I love this type of card. I attended 2 stamp conventions and found some interesting dies. I love this slider one and also the cupcake. I was looking for something small to fit in the slider space and to my delight, MFT's Pure Innocence birthday girl had a sentiment that said, "Happy Cupcake Day". How perfect is that?!

MFTWSC296

When I first got my Misti, I practiced stamping backgrounds. I found this one in my stash and just knew it would be perfect for the large space on this card. It is the mini hexies and I think it adds a little sophistication to the look. My pop of color comes from the Painted Prints Smitten paper pack. The flowers are from the new kit along with greenery from various sets. When I am cutting greenery, I usually cut all that I can from a piece of paper and store them in a container until I need them.

MOJO463

"Tall and skinny" used to really give me problems because they seem so small. I have grown to love, them because they really challenge me. I have learned to use embellishments and paper more scaled to size and it really helps.

Happy Birthday

I seem to be needing many birthday cards of late. This one was inspired by another one I had made during a workshop this summer. It is a center step card and leaves room for adding many of my own touches.

Halloween Slider

While on vacation this summer, I was able to attend Stampaway USA. A company there had many dies to make the fancy fold cards much easier. I got the one to make the slider card and used it to teach this card to my church group. They all appreciated the ease with which the card went together.

Anniversary

OK, no contest or sketch for this card. It is an anniversary card for special people in my life. I used some stencils and die cuts that I have not used in awhile to come up with this beauty.

MFT color challenge #52

I love these colors together. I stamped the bottom half with the distressed background stamp and used the stitched lines for the top. The flower is from the new card kit and the leaves are the "leafy flourish" which always adds elegance.
