SJC18

I love the way this card turned out. I found this wave embossing folder in my box and knew I needed to use it with my new fishies. I didn't want to cover any of it so I just made a frame. Hubby said it looks like an aquarium!

I love the fact that this sketch allowed for a nice background. I saw this technique on a Jennifer McGuire video. I colored a piece of smooth white cardstock with an ink to paper technique, then taped down the hearts stencil. I spritzed with sheer shimmer mist. Stamped a sentiment from Smitten onto a tag from BP12. Cut a border from BP 6 (I think) and added some stitched lines. A small vellum heart finished my design.

I love this sketch. I needed a Valentine's Day birthday card and I think this fits the bill. I intend to mail it, so I wanted it rather flat. I think it works, don't you?

I have been needing quite a few birthday cards of late. When I first looked at this sketch, I was going to pass, since I did not have that die, but then I focused on the horizontal lines and the card took shape. I used 3 different colors of blue ink, but the last two were close in color. Balloons are from Birthday Bears and stamped with Distress Accents. Love the look.

I love the color combination in the polka dot paper from Teresa Collins. I have had it on my desk just waiting for the holidays to pass and a great design to use it on. One of the dots is gray so I used a light gray paper from MFT and stamped it with the lace background stamp also from MFT. The rest of the inks, dies and stamps are also from MFT. This is for a special lady and I hope she likes it.

I must admit, I had a hard time with this sketch. It just didn't speak to me. Last night, I sat at my desk and picked out some papers-none of which appear on this card. Hubby said to turn out the light and sleep on it. This morning with fresh eyes, I jumped in and he was right. It just came together. I used the "candy cane" stripe background which I think gives a tailored look to the card. I found the saying in my box. I cut out the sun from the to the moon and back set. I think it would make a wonderful get well card for a man, don't you?

I stamped the sunflower on watercolor paper with Versa Mark and embossed with SNS gold tinsel embossing powder. I colored the image with Tombow markers and a watercolor brush. The image was fussy cut and then divided into fourths. I mounted them on Hot Fudge squares. The sentiment was stamped on vellum and embossed with gold detail embossing powder.  I love the sparkle that the embossing powder gives this card.
