Two weeks today since my knee surgery. I'm making progress but still moving slowly. I am able to sit with my leg down for longer periods of time, so I am attempting some cards. I love this sketch and thought it begged for one of the large die cuts. I'm going to need a bunch of thank you cards since I have had so much help during my recuperation.

I stamped this image on watercolor paper with versa mark and embossed with silver tinsel embossing powder. I colored it with Tombow markers and a water brush. I added some clear sequins to finish the card.

VLVAPR2018
This is my first card attempt since my total knee replacement on Apr 16. I love the detail each layer brings. The sentiment is from the new set, Hope Lifts. I have a friend in a nursing home and I am trying to send her a card at least once a month. I hope this lifts her spirits!

Ah, Blueprints 18. One of my favorite sets for a card. This one is for an adult grandson. Trying to keep it CAS for him. I think it works!

Isn't this a sweet color pallet for a card? I used the marble background, stamping with blue breeze on glossy cardstock. I sprinkled a little silver embossing powder on it while still wet. I dried with a heat tool, melting the embossing powder. Then I took a sponge blender and added more blue breeze ink. It softens the white parts of the marble stamp. I water colored the tropical flower with peach Bellini and coral crush inks. A cement gray leafy flourish was placed behind the tropical flower and this was mounted on a cement gray card base.A blue breeze sentiment strip embossed with silver finished the card.

I must admit that I struggled with this color combination. I didn't just want to cut out some shapes in the various colors nor did I want to do flowers because I thought many folks would do that. I wondered how the "Beautiful Butterflies" from MFT would work. I had never stamped the 3rd layer in anything but black or gold. When I finished the first one, I knew I had just the look that I wanted. I love the way this turned out and now I'm planning for some other combinations!

When I saw this sketch, I knew that I wanted to use a flower silhouette. I used some patterned paper to add a little interest but kept it in a CAS style. I love the way this turned out and I am planning to send to a friend just to let her know I am thinking about her.

VLVMAR2018
Our March 2018 Viva la Diva is:
I love this sketch and welcomed the digital stamps used on the card. I just had to add a touch of gold in celebration of St. Patrick's Day and all of my Irish friends.

Another card using MFT Marble background stamp, this time with "Peach Bellini" as the background and gold embossing powder. I stamped the daisy image from Technique Tuesday onto watercolor paper and colored with Tombow markers and a water brush. I cut the "happy birthday" from gold foil. A special card for a special friend.

I love this Marble background stamp. I stamped it on glossy paper with Blue Breeze dye ink. Since the ink stays wet on the glossy paper I was able to sprinkle some silver embossing powder on it and heat set it. Then I took a sponge dauber and added more Blue breeze ink in the white spaces. This is the result. The sketch was perfect for this background because it does not cover it completely, but allows for a small focal spot. I love it and would love to hear your thoughts as well.
