I chose some bright daisies for my shapes and added leaves by stamping them with Versamark. I love the subtle design this method gives.

The bottom piece in the sketch reminded me of a snow drift. I chose my favorite elf and the card was born. I received some oxide ink for my birthday (tomorrow) and wanted to see how it would work with a stencil. I used a glue pen and some glitter for the sparkly trim. I love how it turned out and now I'm one more card closer to Christmas!

I have to admit, the colors just screamed Halloween, but I have done many of those, so I opted for something a little different. I did an inlay of the colored strips and I love the way it turned out.

I figured everyone else would use watercolor for backgrounds, so I did something different. I stamped my images in Versamark and heat embossed with gold tinsel embossing powder. I used watercolor to color the ornament.

We just returned to FL after evacuating to Cincinnati, OH for hurricane Irma. Our trip back takes us through the mountains in Tennessee and the trees were beginning to change color. One of nature's most beautiful sights. If you have never seen fall in the northern states, you should make plans to do it.

My card today reminds me of fall and of all the blessings I have received in my life.

MFT Superstar Coloring Virtuoso

This is my entry for MFT Superstar 2017 in the Coloring Virtuoso Category. I don't know if I would consider myself a virtuoso, but I surely do enjoy it. I love the many different stamps that I have to choose from to add my personal touch in the way I color it. I have really come to love watercoloring and using my Copics. Since I could only choose one, I chose watercolors.

MFT Superstar Clean and simple

This is my entry for the 2017 MFT Superstar Contest in the Clean and Simple category. I think that most of my cards could qualify in this category as I love the simple look. I have loved pulling out dies and stamps for this contest and realizing how my card making has evolved along with the MFT company. I have many dies and stamps from a long time ago which I still love to use.

MFT 2017 Card Design Superstar: Innovation Master

This is a design I have been thinking about for a long time. The first photo shows it closed and the second one shows how it opens. The circle serves as the second fold on a gate fold card. The bold Blooms just fit, don't you think? A small bloom on the inside corner shows through to the front for an added touch.

We are back home after spending a week away avoiding hurricane Irma. I'm happy to report that all is well here, nothing out of place and just as we left it.

This was a much needed time to sit and do some coloring and designing. This stamp is from Technique Tuesday. I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed it with detail gold embossing powder. I colored it with copic markers and a water brush. I stamped the sentiment with matching blue to finish the card.

We are getting the car packed today for our trip south. We are leaving in the morning. I am so grateful to all who have prayed for us, texted and emailed us wishing comfort. These things are so important in uncertain times. I had a package from MFT's new release shipped to Cincinnati because I didn't know how long I would be here. The tree is from that package.  CAS is difficult for me but I am happy with the way this one turned out.

This is how I feel today. We left FL to escape Irma. We live in the Tampa Bay area and our adult children insisted that we leave. We came to Cincinnati to stay with our son and today found our that our home suffered no damage. I am truly blessed.

MFTWSC348

I had colored this little with Copics a few weeks ago when I was just coloring images. I knew that the panel would work for this sketch. I chose traditional colors for the card.

My colors are not showing as vibrant as they are on the card. All MFT products are used. The base of the flower is Red Hot, with gold embossed detail on the petals. I used Sunshine ink to make the sun rays using a stencil and the leaves are Gumdrop green. The sentiment is from an old stamp called Blue Skies Ahead.

The simplicity of this sketch permitted me to use patterned paper and create a fun celebration card. The balloon die along with the papers are from My Favorite Things. Don't they make a happy card?

LIM343

This was a fun challenge. I wanted to use something different for my real object and this is what I came up with. The summer is winding down and so are ice cream cone days. My tribute to summer is an ice cream cone with cotton ball ice cream!
