Camp Create Day 5

I was completely enchanted with Francine's video. I am going to try to do more shading with my pencils, but since I did not have a lot of small stamps on hand to try it this time, I went with words. I stamped "Blow out the candles" numerous times and then placed the die cut candles on top. I like the way it turned out.

This finishes my travelling entries for Camp Create and I'm sure that I will be using all of the great techniques that I have learned!

Camp Create Day 4

I did not pack a  lot of specialty dies for this trip so I masked off approximately a 2 X 3 inch square. I added color with a little rough inking for dimension, then peeled away the masking strips. I added the "hello" and some sequins which I think made a very cute note card.

Camp Create Day 3

This is my favorite of all five cards. I love the set, love the colors and love the way it turned out. It is such a good way to add interest.

Camp Create Day 2

I loved the technique taught in this class. I am loving my pencils now and will surely be using them more often.

Camp Create Day 1

OK, so I am on vacation visiting my cousin for a few weeks. I packed a bag of card making supplies, of course, hoping to keep up with the weekly sketch. I chose three of my favorite card kits, thinking that with stamps and inks included in each kit along with the beautiful papers, I would have more than I needed. My Misti arrived the day before I left, so I was sure that I would not need to carry all of the acrylic blocks. I added a box of 6 x 6 paper pads and was ready to go.
When I checked my email on Tuesday, I realized that Camp Create had begun. Now I was concerned. Had I brought enough supplies? Could I make 5 cards along with all the activities planned? I am happy to say that the week was successful and my MFT supplies were more than adequate! So onto my contributions.
I did not pack any foiling supplies but was delighted to find some kraft paper with foiled designs in the corner. I used it to cut out a vase for some flowers from the very first card kit. I love the rich effect it gives.

MFTWSC287

I received my Misti this week and tried it out with background stamps. I love the way it works! I used the lace background, funky flower and leafy flourish. I love the detail I got with the stamping.

MOJO454

This was a newer technique to me. I embossed the circle, then with a flat daubber, I added ink to bring out the star pattern. I like the look and think it will get better the more I use it. Paper is from MFT.
